Piani d'Erna

Today we went to Piani d'Erna. This is the mountain which we see from Pegorino in Lesmo. This is the tram we took up to the top of the mountain.

Here we are searching for funghi (mushrooms) Everyone I found was no good but Gianpy found a bag full of good ones.
This plant has an interesting story. When Franca and Ilde were little girls, Zio Vittorio would tell them to go break off a limb of this plant to use as a fork for pizzocheri. Zio and Nonno (my grandfather) would break off limbs of this plant and carve them to make forks to use to eat when they were in montagna with the mucche (cows) for the summer. They lived in a rock house set into the hill.
